Security and Reliability

Nothing is more important to e-Accounting Plus than maintaining and guaranteeing the confidentiality and security of the information with which we are entrusted.

Your records are protected by a secure data center, daily backup, access controls, biometric surveillance, power feeds, hot swappable servers and routers in the event of power outage, as well as an Intrusion Detection System. We are constantly updating our security systems, ensuring optimum protection for your financial information. We monitor and address emerging threats, and quickly process and apply new security patches.

We use industry standard security procedures to secure the transmission of all information to and from the Application Service Provider. Such security precautions include, at a minimum, the following:

  • User Identification and access controls designed to limit access to authorized users.
  • Industry standard encryption techniques when information is transmitted to or from the ASP Application.
  • Physical security measures, including securing all information on a secure server, in locked data cabinets within a secure facility.

We provide access and data security features not commonly found in most automated accounting systems. These include:

Login and password controls for accessing the e-Dashboard.

Clients access a secure website using a login and password combination. The business owner and the designated e-Accounting Plus team members are initially established for access. The business owner can then assign additional individuals who will be granted access to their data.

Login and password controls for accessing the client’s data.

Once connected successfully to the secure website, each authorized person accesses Quickbooks file using a login and password combination. The business owner and our designated team members are initially established for access to all components of the business’ data environment. The business owner can then define additional individuals who will be granted access to their data by topic. For example, “John” might be granted access to all areas except Payroll, while “Mary” is granted access to only the Payroll section.

Redundant and backup power sources to ensure 100% uptime.

The website that hosts the accounting software programs and each e-Accounting Plus client’s data files are contained within a network of servers, firewalls, and other networking equipment, and located in a sophisticated and state-of-the-art data center. The data center is configured with multiple power sources, including redundant power supplies for each server, and back-up generators. In the event of a power supply component failing within the server, the redundant power supply takes over in real time, avoiding costly downtime situations, and allowing maintenance personnel to replace the defective power supply with no business interruption. In the event of a power grid incident, the back-up generator system is started to provide power to all of the data center’s equipment.

Redundant and data backup techniques to ensure catastrophic recovery capability.

All client data is protected within the data center by a systematic process of both on-site and off-site electronic back-up (“data vaulting”). Each client’s accounting data is contained within a database; if the database becomes corrupted or damaged at any time, recovery from a previous backup is quick, and typically does not impact the client’s ability to process transactions or print/view reports. All databases are monitored 24x7x365 by both network and server management software as well as data center personnel.
